Sun King Welcomes DCI, DPP Action in Nakuru Fraud Case, Warns Customers Against Impersonators
Sun King reiterated the importance of using official payment channels and remaining vigilant against individuals claiming to represent the company.

Sun King has welcomed action by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in Nakuru following reports that individuals posing as the company’s agents had collected money from customers.
In a statement issued on October 19, 2026, the company thanked law enforcement agencies for their efforts and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the legal process.
Sun King said it would not comment on the case or the individuals involved because the matter is now before the court.
“Impersonating Sun King to take money from customers is a criminal offence,” the company said, stressing that those who exploit customers’ trust must be held accountable.
The company added that it was working proactively with law enforcement agencies to support efforts to crack down on fraudulent activities carried out in its name. It also pledged to continue raising public awareness to help customers identify and avoid fraudsters.
Sun King Urges Customers to Use Official Payment Channels
As part of its efforts to protect customers, Sun King has urged the public to make payments exclusively through its official channels.
Customers have been advised to use the company’s official Paybill number, 323458, or its USSD code, *305#, for payments.
The company warned that it would never ask customers to send money to a personal M-Pesa number, a till or a bank account.
Customers have also been cautioned against sharing their M-Pesa PINs or Sun King account details with anyone. The company further warned against handing over or lending national identity cards to individuals offering money in exchange, noting that such documents could be used to open accounts fraudulently in the owner’s name.
Customers Encouraged to Report Suspected Fraud
Sun King has encouraged anyone who suspects they have been targeted by fraudsters using the company’s name to report the incident through its official customer support channels or to the police.
