MultiChoice Kenya has unveiled a new pricing structure for its DStv and GOtv services, simplifying its subscription options and introducing more affordable entry-level packages as part of a customer-focused campaign dubbed *Expect More*.
The changes, announced by MultiChoice Kenya Managing Director Nzola Miranda on November 3, 2026, reduce the number of DStv packages from six to four.
GOtv has also undergone a similar restructuring, with four subscription tiers replacing the previous line-up.
The new prices take effect on Thursday, November 5, 2026, and are intended to give subscribers greater flexibility, improved access to entertainment and sports content, and more affordable viewing options.
Speaking about the changes, Miranda said the company had taken into account feedback from customers who wanted simpler subscription choices, more accessible content and greater value.
"This Thursday, we are launching new perks, reducing the number from six to four. Over the years, our customers have told us they want simpler options, more accessible content and greater choice. We have listened," he said.

Under the revised pricing structure, DStv will offer four packages: Starter, Select, Sports and Ultimate. Each package targets a different category of viewers, ranging from households seeking affordable entertainment to subscribers interested in premium international sporting events.
The entry-level **DStv Starter package costs KSh 750 per month** and provides access to up to 116 channels. Its offering includes SuperSport KICKOFF, a new sports channel that will broadcast a live Match of the Week from leading football competitions, including the English Premier League.
The DStv Select package costs KSh 1,500 monthly and offers up to 149 channels covering family entertainment, movies, television series and sports.
For sports enthusiasts, the new DStv Sports package is priced at KSh 3,000 per month. One of the major changes is the inclusion of full English Premier League coverage in a mid-tier subscription package, making all Premier League matches accessible without subscribing to the more expensive premium tier.
At the top of the line-up is DStv Ultimate, which costs KSh 7,300 per month and provides access to up to 180 channels. The package includes premium sporting competitions such as Formula 1, MotoGP, cricket, rugby, ATP tennis and major golf tournaments, alongside entertainment and lifestyle programming.
All four DStv packages will also be available through the DStv Stream application at the same monthly subscription prices.

MultiChoice has also restructured its GOtv offering, introducing four packages with monthly subscription prices ranging from KSh 300 to KSh 3,000.
The entry-level GOtv Easy package costs KSh 300 per month, providing a lower-cost option for households looking for affordable digital television entertainment.
At the other end of the revised line-up, GOtv Sports costs KSh 3,000 monthly and targets viewers seeking access to sports programming.

MultiChoice Reduces DStv Decoder and Installation Costs
Beyond the subscription changes, MultiChoice Kenya is reducing the upfront cost of acquiring DStv satellite television equipment.
Effective November 5, customers will be able to purchase a new HD decoder and satellite dish at a combined price of KSh 1,500.
Installation will cost an additional KSh 500, bringing the initial equipment and installation expense to KSh 2,000, excluding any applicable additional charges.
The reduction is part of the company's broader effort to make its satellite television services more accessible to households that may have been discouraged by the initial cost of acquiring the equipment.
Premier League Coverage Moves to a More Affordable DStv Package
One of the most notable changes in the new DStv pricing structure is the introduction of full English Premier League coverage on the DStv Sports package, priced at KSh 3,000 per month.
Previously, subscribers seeking comprehensive access to Premier League matches generally had to subscribe to higher-priced packages.
The new arrangement places the competition within a mid-tier subscription, potentially making it more accessible to football fans who want comprehensive coverage without paying the DStv Ultimate monthly fee of KSh 7,300.
The introduction of SuperSport KICKOFF on DStv Starter also expands the sports offering at the entry level, with a live Match of the Week from leading leagues.
These changes come as pay-TV operators face growing competition from streaming platforms and changing consumer preferences, with affordability and access to premium content becoming increasingly important considerations for subscribers.
Canal+ Takeover and MultiChoice's Changing Strategy
The announcement comes amid significant changes in MultiChoice's corporate ownership following its acquisition by French media and entertainment group Canal+.
Canal+ completed its takeover of MultiChoice in 2025, bringing the South African company's extensive African pay-TV operations, including DStv and GOtv, under its ownership.
MultiChoice has traditionally maintained a strong presence across sub-Saharan Africa through its satellite television and digital entertainment services.
The latest pricing changes represent a restructuring of its Kenyan subscription offering, with a focus on simplifying packages, adjusting prices and broadening access to sports and entertainment content.
For Kenyan subscribers, the new structure introduces a wider range of choices, including GOtv Easy at KSh 300, DStv Starter at KSh 750 and DStv Sports at KSh 3,000 per month.
The changes take effect on November 5, 2026, marking a new chapter in MultiChoice Kenya's approach to pay-TV pricing and content distribution.
