- Any results-related queries must be submitted through school heads within 30 days of the results release.
- Queries submitted after 30 days will attract a fee, according to KNEC.
KNEC congratulated all candidates and urged schools to guide learners on the correct procedure for lodging any concerns.
New KCSE Certificate Collection System
To address persistent issues surrounding withheld certificates, the Ministry of Education has introduced a new collection system.
Under the new arrangement:
- KCSE certificates will be collected from sub-county education offices
- Certificates will no longer be issued through former secondary schools
This move is intended to ensure faster access and eliminate administrative bottlenecks.
Key Statistics on the 2025 KCSE Examinations
- 993,000 candidates sat for the KCSE examinations nationwide
- Exams were administered between October 21 and November 14, 2025
Over 110,000 personnel were involved, including:
- Centre managers
- Supervisors and invigilators
- Officers from the Ministries of Education and Interior
The Cabinet Secretary praised the teams for their discipline, noting that some officers reported as early as 4am to 5am daily to ensure timely distribution of examination materials.
Special Arrangements for Candidates in Hospitals
The Ministry also made special provisions for candidates receiving medical care.
According to CS Ogamba, efforts were made to ensure that “every willing learner got a chance to sit their papers despite personal challenges,” including those in hospitals.
The shift to an online-only KCSE results checking system marks a significant digital transition by KNEC. Candidates are advised to use only the official KNEC portal, keep their details secure, and follow the proper channels for any results-related queries.
